FO: Babička's mitts

I finally finished the hand warmers for my babička. They fit her perfectly and were done just in time to keep her hands protected from the chilly October air.

Pattern: Cable Twist Handwarmers
Yarn: Karabella Lace Merino Silk
Yardage: .9 skeins = 225 yards
Needles: Size 1

If I were to make this pattern again (and I think I will... it was so quick and easy!), I would make the thumb gusset increases 1 stitch "in" rather than on the edge of the gusset to avoid the stair-steppy look. I was worried that the thumb bind off was too tight and/or there were too few stitches at the top of the thumb and babička would not be able to pull the mitts over her knuckles. But her fingers are shorter than mine and the bind off doesn't have to go over her knuckles at all! No tailoring needed. Yay!
